Wouldn't you think, that if there were many inquiries at the headquarter over a matter, that the WT keeps a log of it. They must review whats going on and either change it or shoot it down in the "Questions from the Readers" When it becomes worrisome (teaching) because events change (or don't - 1975, Millions now living will never die) they must project a timeline to get rid of it. New books, new understanding.........

How do they decide when to get rid of certain information in their publications?
by Tameria2001 ini was recently watching a video on youtube and on the john cedars channel, he was talking about how the watchtower has discontinued quite a few of their books from back when i was still active.
so it got me to thinking about how do they decide that certain teaching doesn't fit them anymore.
so i was wondering does anyone have any ideas on how they come to that decision because if any of their members bring up something, that person can be disfellowshipped?.

The bible/wt continually points at Eve as the example to fit all women. Funny how they don't use Saul as an example for all men.
Eve = she was tricked and is untrustworthy. Solution - She should always have a man tell her what to do.
Adam - lost the chance for a perfect life because the desire for his wife swayed him. Solution - Don't let men be in a position of leadership.
See, never will happen with the men because they wrote the book.

When You Would Hear A Talk About Committing “Secret Sins” How Did You React?
by minimus init seemed as if every year a talk would be given in the congregation or at a convention about “secret sins”.
very predictably, witnesses would have pangs of conscience and confess their secret sin.. back in the 70s, one sister with an unbelieving mate went to the elders to confess about husband and her engaging in oral sex.
she was privately reproved for her “sin” and every so often would approach the elders to say she slipped up again.. i know i’d never tell anybody about my sex life just because of misguided guilt.

I remember more than 9 (?) years ago, at a two day assembly, a talk about putting past sins away and forgetting them. The speaker went on about how he had a friend that had a favorite sweater. One day he ruined it somehow and got a hole in it. He kept the sweater in a drawer and wouldn't get rid of it because one day, he was going to fix it. Finally his mom threw it away.
The speaker put on his sad voice and gently said, maybe we have done something in the past and made amends but we can't just forgive ourselves or forget it. He went on about how it was like the sweater and we should just throw our past sins away.
Funny thing is, at first it seemed like it was a great talk. But then all of things I'd done in the past, seemed to have been brought up again in my mind, and I felt even guiltier.
I guess that was the point of the talk. Unless they just wanted the men in the audience to step up and take some positions in the hall and not make the excuse of not being worthy.

If he does go back and wants to be full in, there is a possiblity he will want to be married (with the hope of converting you) or he'll step back and make it a condition of marrying him to be a JW. If he wants to straddle the line, it might get tiresome for you as he tries to make everyone at the hall happy, family happy and you happy.
Forewarned is forearmed. As was suggested, take a look at JWfacts.
It is not that they are terrible people, but that they follow a group of men that claim to be God's spokesmen. In following them, they will turn their backs on family that don't obey those men. The rules they impose on the followers, are like of the pharisees of Jesus's day.

The "Food Truck" analogy
by stuckinarut2 ini was pondering the way the society condemns anyone who looks for "spiritual food" outside of their approved channel.
as we know, jws are only to go to the approved website, and research material.. this illustration came to mind.. lets say we have a 5star fancy restaurant, and a new clean food truck.
both kitchens prepare a meal.. if the food is simply assessed on its own merit, and the source of its production is ignored, it can be deemed as healthy, safe, nutritious and tasty.

People love making tiny things. That's a lot of tiny things on a long log. It would drive me crazy if I had to make it, but there are some things I do that probably would have the same effect on others.

Watchtower hires off-duty law enforcement
by Diogenesister inan indignant law enforcement officer wrote kim & mikey to let them know watchtower had placed an advertisement on a facebook page dedicated to law enforcement staff only, looking to hire a fully uniformed and armed officer at $35 per hour.
the commission was for the memorial in a specified texan venue.. the officer was particularly miffed at the hypocrisy considering the terrible way law enforcement was portrayed in the 2018 convention video, where the jws had been herded into a field to be slaughtered by a large group of officers.
not to mention the fact they are only too willing to call police for their own protection, yet won’t do so when it comes to protecting children from potential or actual abuse.. https://youtu.be/-rpcsztnvyo.

The WT also pays monthly, a retainer to "worldly" lawyers purely for child abuse cases. A lot of ice cream money goes into their pockets.
I wonder if the police would take their time to answer a call to the WT?

I don't know what the talk said specifically, but besides talking a great deal about what it means for humankind, they usually throw in a few words about how God will soon take care of all the problems. Every witness, new, old or "prodigal son" type, will know what they are talking about - Armageddon. The ones coming back, might become a little anxious thinking about where they stand in God's eyes.
That fear is also a great motivator to return. I remember several people coming back into the congregation when an event in world made them anxious. So he may have that running through his mind also.
Maybe that is a subject you will end up talking about. If he is anxious, he might express it to you. He might be thinking about what will happen to you when it does come.

They've been taught that above all else, the GB would never lie. The organization is above reproach. I certainly believed that at one time.
But now I know they do. If the bible teaches one thing, it is that people can and will lie even if they belong to the "true" religion. Peter lied, David covered up sinning etc. But funny how that isn't thought of at all, when looking at the present day "truthful" religion.
